The church was filled to capacity\, with heartfelt applause echoing throughout an evening of remembrance and musical unity. \nThe programme featured both Chinese and Western works\, highlighted by Xian Xinghai’s monumental Yellow River Cantata (黄河大合唱).Professor Cheng Yu presented a stirring performance of the third movement\, “The Yellow River Flows from Heaven” (黄河之水天上来)\, arranged for pipa\, piano\, and narration. \nThis marked Prof. Cheng’s fourth performance of the Yellow River Cantata in the UK\, offering audiences a deeply moving interpretation that celebrated the enduring human spirit\, resilience\, and hope for peace.
