Special lecture and performance – “Boundless Strings, Resonant Silk Road – The Sound Voyage of Chinese Music.”

The Zixia Qin Academy was honoured to host Professor Cheng Yu from SOAS University of London for a special lecture and performance titled “Boundless Strings, Resonant Silk Road – The Sound Voyage of Chinese Music.”
As a leading figure in Chinese music overseas, Prof. Cheng Yu has travelled to more than thirty countries performing on the pipa and guqin, bringing the elegance of traditional Chinese music to the world stage. Recognised by the UK’s world music magazine Songlines as a “leading figure in Chinese music in Europe,” she shared her musical journey in Britain and her lifelong dedication to promoting Chinese music internationally.
The event featured a lecture interwoven with live performances, blending tradition with cross-cultural creativity.
