On 22 February, Cheng Yu was invited to perform with Sino-British Concert string quartet at the Chinese Embassy in London as part of the Spring Festival celebrations. The concert featured new compositions blending Chinese pipa and Western music instruments, including an excerpt of Jian Ying (Sword Shadow) —a newly composed East-West fusion piece for five-string pipa and string quartet by Ray Lin.
Following the performance, Cheng Yu and the musicians engaged in discussions with Ambassador Zheng Zeguang and his wife, Cultural Counsellor Li Liyan, Minister Zhao Fei, and longtime friend Brian Finch (T7). She expressed her gratitude for the invitation and looks forward to more opportunities for cultural exchange in the future.
